When and why did you decide to join the military and where were you located when you made this decision?

Joined the navy. I grew up poor in Brooklyn. I was influenced by a British TV show about WW2 ships and signed up in 1960.

Where did you serve during your time in uniform?

Phillipines, Pearl Harbor, Hong Kong, Guam, Vietnam.

What were some of your key memories during your time of service? 

I was shot in Pearl Harbor. I was lucky that I survived.

What is an important value that you took away from your military experience? 

Leadership, patriotism

Check out where you want to go. You only get out of it what you put into it.
