When and why did you decide to join the military and where were you located when you made this decision?

Lived in Brooklyn. In school. Korean War was going on and I wanted to help so I enlisted.

Where did you serve during your time in uniform?

Germany.

What were some of your key memories during your time of service? 

Training was going around mountains in Germany. No one spoke English and I had to learn how to get around that. Unexpected was going to places where people didn't want you being there.

What is an important value that you took away from your military experience? 

Being on time and as truthful as possible. When you tell a friend you are going to be by his side, he will trust you to do it.

 What advice would you give someone interested in joining the military? 

Think long and hard and be sure that’s what you want.
